A new piece arrived by e-mail today. ”Four musical poems” for recorder and archlute by swedish composer Tebogo Monnakgotla. We’ve already premiered the first movement March 8th this year and will premiere the rest of this wonderful piece in Gävle the 24th of February.
This is all part of EN.D.E’s project ”Italian elegance and Swedish Determination” where we’ve rediscovered music by Italian 18th c female composers (Anna Bon di Venezia) and commissioned music by living swedish female composers (Tebogo Monnakgotla, Ida Lundén, Anna Eriksson and Malin Bång)
I’m really looking forward to premiere these pieces and perform Tebogo and Ida again. I practised Anna Erikssons’s ”Pat and Cat into the woods” the other day and especially enjoyed the opening of the piece 🙂
This is what you need to be able to play Himmelsschlüsselblumen (2010) for recorder, archlute, speldosa and tape by Ida Lundén: Marshall Mini-Amps, IKEA plastic box, large music box, small music box, contact microphones and of course the paper chart with holes.
